Virginia HOPE has been at the forefront of advocating for awareness across not only the commonwealth, but nationwide. We have taken our advocacy efforts to the nation’s capital in the month of March, meeting with lawmakers and legislative aides about our awareness efforts. In March of 2015, Governor Terry McAuliffe declared March as Endometriosis Awareness Month in the state of Virginia. This was a first for endometriosis awareness in Virginia and a huge accomplishment for those with endometriosis. Governor McAuliffe also declared March Endometriosis Awareness Month in 2016. Mayor Dwight C. Jones in 2015 declared March as Endometriosis Awareness Month in the City of Richmond. In 2018, the Virginia General Assembly passed a resolution designating March as Endometriosis Awareness Month in the state of Virginia. Mayor Dwight C. Jones declared March as Endometriosis Awareness Month in the City of Richmond.
